Damien has spent 33 years in the Australian construction industry — across trades, building, and offsite manufacturing. He's quoted, invoiced, chased payments, complied with standards, won jobs, and lost jobs. He knows what a tradie actually needs on site at 7am.

trAId started as a compliance question-answering tool for plumbers — a way to get cited AS3500 answers on site without digging through a PDF. It became something bigger when Damien realised the same AI infrastructure that answered compliance questions could run quotes, invoices, scheduling, and accounting — all from a smartphone, all by voice.

The core insight is simple: sole traders don't sit at desks. They're on rooftops, in crawl spaces, under sinks. The platform needs to work for them there — not expect them to catch up on paperwork at 9pm.

trAId is free at its core because the biggest barrier for sole traders isn't the cost of software — it's the friction of adopting it. Remove the friction, make it genuinely useful on day one, and the business takes care of itself.
